Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American actress, singer, and dancer. Her early Broadway productions included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. She received her Tony Award for Best Featured actress in the Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with a variety of well-known directors and actors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career by working on new projects. Ashford can be seen next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani, in Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford's current film includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms as a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to appear alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that produced Hamilton, will direct the show. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as well as other main characters in the first impeachment trial in the United States in over a century. She was also the lead in two seasons of CBS comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role as Essie. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren In Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford divides her time between Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver & raised there.
